Renovated in 2018 a village hall with these and many other things for you if you wish to hire the hall.
This is a very traditional village hall centred around one large main room - licensed for 90 people with a modern kitchen including a large commercial cooker and commercial dishwasher ideal for a large function such as a wedding or birthday party. With full disability access.
Please take a look around our website to see what a thriving busy village hall we have and the many and varied activities held here.
On Saturday 29th July 2023 Geldeston held its annual village fete. It was decided before the event, by the Village Hall Committee to donate the net proceeds to a charity called “MIND” which is there to help people with Mental illness .
Also at the opening of the Fete we unveiled a new village sign which the Village hall Trustees commissioned funded by part of a legacy from Mrs Monica Hilda Chidley. Monica used to live in the village along with her family and husband. She used and enjoyed the hall as part of the community life for many years. Our grand hall being 100 years old this year we felt it was a fitting memory to her to install a new sign so the village not only has a great hall but also a focal point on our village green.

Once again the scarecrow trail proved a huge hit with 24 amazing scarecrows making an appearance for over 100 followers of the trail map.
A huge thank you as well to all who visited us at the Coffee days during the scarecrow trail for MIND and MND. We raised £210 which will be shared between the two charities.
The winning scarecrow this year was Paddington Bear narrowly winning by just one vote from the bee. There were 34 correct entries for the £25 voucher so a draw was needed to find a winner and they have been notified.

A great walk led by Fizzy was undertaken on "Beat the Bounds" in the village Sunday 19th September 2021.
14 people took part with three dogs and the sun was shinning. Starting out towards the Locks and then heading towards Ellingham mill coming back by the Quarry on Old Yarmouth Road. 6.2 miles in total.
Soup and Sausage baps were waiting for them back in the hall and a very sociable afternoon was spent sitting on the patio in the sunshine.
Another good community event for Geldeston. The next one is planned for Spring 2023 all welcome.
Wherry Quiz Nights
Regular quiz nights are being held again at the Wherry public house.

I went to a wedding reception at the hall and it was brilliant especially with the recent renovations. Highly recommend for your reception or party.
Thank you so much for letting me use the village hall.
It is a lovely facility and I have enjoyed being out there.
Sensory Integration Therapy
I go to the coffee mornings at the village hall and was amazed at the transformation the renovations made to our village hall.
Mr A Smith
We have a Defibrillator in the old red telephone box outside the village hall.
We think you will all agree what a fantastic addition for the village and great use of the old telephone box.
Great news and a huge well done to all who made this possible.
